Lindsay Lohan has been released from Lynwood Correctional Facility after serving less than two weeks behind bars. A spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department told photogs gathered outside Lynwood that Lindsay was released at about 1:35 AM. She was taken to UCLA Medical Center to begin her rehab treatment
Additional TMZ reports say she will be treated for addiction to methamphetamine and bipolar disorder.
Ex-inmate Cheryl Presser, who was released from Lynwood Friday, told the Daily Mirror, “She is in with the killers and she has only been let out for hour-long breaks, and during those she was locked down to a table. Today (Friday), Lindsay got put on lockdown. While some of us got two hours to go to the yard, or the TV room, Lindsay was on total lockdown. She had a hysterical fit, crying and yelling so she got put in isolation.
Cheryl said Lindsay spends every night sobbing in her cell which is keeping other prisoners up and not very happy. They responded by taunting the actress and screaming “fire crotch.”
As for the conditions at Lynwood, they are not very good at all. ““The wards are cold and smelly – they stink. The air conditioning is turned up so high that you can’t sleep because of the cold. Inmates try and shove the air vents full of toilet paper to stop the air coming out, but it doesn’t work,” explains Cheryl. “Lindsay would lie there shivering all night, crying and trying to cover her face with her hands. Her wailing was keeping everyone awake.”
The actress, now in her third day of confinement, is said to have left her father Michael off the list of potential visitors she gave to prison officials. “No one at the jail will even tell her that he’s there, if he does come. He will not be visiting her but her mother, sister, manager and lawyer have all visited Lohan in these trying times.
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has reportedly entered rehab in an apparent attempt to curry favor with the California judge who wants to lock her up for 90 days.
The fallen starlet was pictured entering the Pickford Lofts facility Wednesday, according to X17online.com.
The clinic was set up by O.J. Simpson’s former attorney, Robert Shapiro, who has been hired by Lohan to handle her on-going legal woes, TMZ.com reported.
Shapiro established the facility after his son Brent died of a drug overdose in 2005.
On her first day at the center, Lohan received visits on Wednesday from her mom, Dina, sister Ali, ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, assistant Eleanor and alleged new love Eilat Anschel, according to X17.
Her assistant brought in pillows and bags from Blick art supply, a case of Sprite and toilet paper, while Ronson arrived about 10 p.m. and stayed for 45 minutes, reported the celebrity Web site.
Shapiro will reportedly attempt to convince Los Angeles Judge Marsha Revel to put Lohan in a detox clinic and either dismiss or reduce her 90-day jail sentence.
Lohan, 24, was sentenced to time behind bars followed by 90 days at an inpatient rehab center last week for violating the terms of her probation in her DUI case.
She must surrender herself in Revel’s courtroom on July 20
According to The NY Daily News, Lohan, fired back at Joan Rivers via Twitter on Tuesday after the comedienne cracked a few jokes about the actress on her own Twitter page last Friday.
“Joan Rivers and her ‘stargument’ make me believe that she and Michael Lohan are a match made in heaven,” Lohan tweeted about Rivers and her estranged father.
In her next Tweet, the actress added a cyber-jab at Dr. Drew Pinsky of “Celebrity Rehab,” who once said the troubled starlet needed to get arrested in order to get better.
“All [Michael] needs is [Joan’s] botox doctor. ‘Dr.’ Drew – any ideas? Botox rehab reality show?” LiLo wrote.
“In the words of 50 cent,” she further tweeted, “You shouldn’t throw stones if you live in a glass house and if you got a glass jaw, you should watch yo mouth.”
Her Twitter taunts come after Rivers, 77, made some jokes at Lohan’s expense on Twitter last week.
“Lindsay Lohan is so dumb. Her idea of being sworn in is cursing at the judge,” she wrote, referring to Lohan’s F-word manicure.
“I was just reading about the new Lindsay Lohan diet, which is all liquid. 80 Proof,” Rivers continued.
She also quipped, “Lindsay Lohan said she wouldn’t mind being under oath because she thought Oath was a Norwegian ski instructor.”
Although Lohan is just now responding to the comedienne’s tweets, Samantha Ronson came to her ex-girlfriend’s defense almost immediately.
“Hey Joan Rivers- you have collagen older than Lindsay, pick on someone your own age, oh wait, I guess people that old can’t hear,” she tweeted on Friday.
According to Tamara Haley, a 38-year-old currently at Lynwood doing time for heroin possession and prostitution, Lindsay can expect quite the reception when she arrives at the bing:
“Everyone will want a piece of her. It will make them famous if they hurt Lindsay Lohan.
“Or if you get her to cry, the whole ward will laugh and people will love it — even the guards.”
We all know Lindsay can cry on command — she is an actress after all — so it shouldn’t be that hard satisfying the prison pop in that regard.
Speaking of satisfaction, Haley warns that lesbian gangs are always on the lookout for fresh fish and Lindsay is liable to end up somebody’s prison b*tch if she’s not careful:
“The gay inmates wear their shirts inside out to let others know they are available. So if Lindsay doesn’t want someone to grab her ass she’d better keep her shirt on straight.”
“Women grab each other like animals when the guards aren’t looking. It’s disgusting.”
Lindsay may not have to serve more than 23 days of her 90 day sentence due to jail overcrowding, and because of her celebrity status she’s likely to be held in the segregation unit for her own safety.
Haley added:
“She’ll be segregated from the general population but where she’s going it is even worse. It’s the wing where the murderers are.I don’t think they will actually be able to get to her, but you never know. At the very least some of those hardcases will try to scare her. They’ll scream stuff to her from their cells.”
“I’ve been in segregation and it was rough. The lights are on the whole time. You hear people screaming all night long. The cells are filthy and kept brutally cold. You get one tiny blanket and that’s it.”
“There’s an infection going around now. You can barely sleep at night from all the coughing. And there are girls with body lice.”
There’s more drama in the Lindsay Lohan camp. Her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley — who quit following Tuesday’s hearing where Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail — has been told by Judge Marsha Revel that she cannot leave the case. A source told us, “The judge told Holley she can’t quit and leave Lindsay without representation. She has to stay on the case until Lindsay has a substitution of attorney filed with the court.” The source added Holley was frustrated with Lohan because “she won’t take or follow advice. She is not returning calls, and so they haven’t been able to set up meetings with her and a psychologist for her court-ordered psychiatric evaluation.” So unless Lindsay starts complying with Holley, or finds a new lawyer in the next few days, her chances of appealing her sentence look thin. A rep for Holley declined to comment.
Judge Marsha Revel today sentenced troubled actress Lindsay Lohan to 60 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation. Prosecutor Danette Meyers called witnesses from the Right On Drug & Alcohol Rehab to show that Lohan was not in compliance when she failed to attend 9 alcohol education classes in direct violation of Judge Revel’s orders.
Meyers was ruthless when grilling Rehab co-owner Cheryl Marshall, who confirmed that she did not report any of Lohan’s absences to the court. Meyers testified that she did not believe it was her responsibility to report Lohan’s absences. Meyers said she worried that she would be held liable for violating Lohan’s rights.
Lohan was also ordered to wear a SCRAM alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet. The monitoring agency reported a violation to the court during the MTV awards last month. A subsequent blood test was negative for alcohol.
Lohan was ordered to enroll in alcohol education classes in 2007 after being charged with a DUI. The judge pointed out that it took Lohan 3 years to complete a 1½-year program. Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, argued that while Lohan was not in compliance by missing 9 education classes, she would have completed the program on time this month.
A tearful Lohan addressed the judge, saying she didn’t realize she was out of compliance and she did everything she was supposed to do. “I’m not taking this as a joke. It’s my life and my career. I thought it was OK that I missed those classes.”
The judge was not moved by her tears.
In making her decision, Judge Revel pointed out that Lohan had not been in compliance with a previous drug treatment program. The judge said at that time, Lohan used the paparazzi as an excuse to miss prior education education classes.
“I couldn’t have been more clear,” said Judge Revel. “Nowhere did I say that she could attend classes whenever she felt like it.”
Lindsay Lohan was punched by a waitress at L.A. club Voyeur early Friday morning — her 24th birthday.
“A waitress just hit me – punched me for no reason,” the actress Twittered around 1 a.m. PT.
A witness tells UsMagazine.com that Lohan — who sipped Red Bulls and hid her SCRAM bracelet with thigh-high boots — wasn’t exaggerating.
“The waitress has a history with Doug Reinhardt, and Lohan was hanging out with him. She was jealous, and out of nowhere, the waitress punched her in the face!” the insider tells Us. “Doug didn’t want any part of it and went to the other side of the booth. Lohan ran out.”
The night didn’t get better from there.
Lohan went to a party at the nearby Rockstar House — and ran into the waitress again!
“Lohan showed up and cried because the waitress was there as well,” says another source. “Some birthday.”
